Tsuki-iro tome ("sharp-timbre") is a left-hand glissando
technique. It is similar to oshi hibiki, but
occurs much quickly and the string is only depressed to raise the pitch
a half-tone. Japanese scores indicate tsuki-iro with a small tsu
katakana character above the string number.
